Bachelor of Training and Development
Why study the Bachelor of Training and Development at UNE?
The term 'Training and Development' describes the intersection of adult education and training with individual and organisational development. The course has been designed to provide the cross-disciplinary expertise required by workplace trainers with system level responsibilities.
The aims are: (i) to understand practical and theoretical frame works of workplace learning; (ii) to provide an understanding of local, national and global impacts on workplace training; (iii) to offer alternative philosophical approaches from which to critique current approaches; and (iv) to link training concerns with leadership and organisational development, and to facilitate the effectiveness of individual trainers in a workplace environment.

The admission guidelines are: one year of full-time study or equivalent at a recognised institution = 1 year; two years of full-time study or equivalent at a recognised institution = 2 years; Certificate IV (AQF 4) = 0.5 year; Diploma (AQF 5) eg Frontline Management = 1 year; five or more years relevant work experience = 0.5 year; two or more years training adults experience on top of previous five years work experience (ie minimum seven years) = 1 year;Industry and/or VET-system accredited trade or paraprofessional qualification = full-time duration |

1. Admission to Candidature
A candidate shall:
(a) hold a qualification requiring the equivalent of two years’ full-time study approved by the school; or
(b) hold other academic or professional qualifications or be able to demonstrate experiential learning considered by the school to be equivalent.
2. Course Requirements
(a) To qualify for the award, a candidate shall pass 48 credit points as specified in Rules 2. (b) and 5.
(b) The course shall comprise all units in Group 1.
3. Period of Candidature
The maximum period of candidature shall be:
(a) one year as a full-time candidate;
(b) four years as a part-time candidate.

5. Units Offered
All units listed below for this award have a value of six credit points except where indicated after a colon.

PDAS 301, 302, 313, 314; PDLD 300, 380, 381, 382; or any other unit approved by the school.
