Why study the Bachelor of Natural Resources at UNE?
Environmental Management is a key issue for the future of Australia. This degree is built around a common core of units in pure and applied science, ecology and resource management in the first two years. During the third and fourth years an elective program allows specialisation in a in a research or vocational area. Students who complete an Honours project in the final year are considered for the award of Honours.
Career Opportunities
Graduates enter positions with high-level training in resource management. Over half of the graduates enter government resource management agencies in fields such as water and soil conservation, parks and wildlife management, catchment management and rehabilitation, and vegetation and landscape management. Graduates are also highly sought after in industries including environmental consulting, mining companies and research institutions

Fully credited exchange programs of one semester are in place with international universities. | Entry Requirements | Normal admission requirements apply, Assumed knowledge is Mathematics and recommended study is Biology and/or Chemistry and/or Physics. The Faculty offers Foundation Studies in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics for students who do not have the recommended background knowledge. |

| Double Degree Opportunities | The double degree Bachelor of Natural Resources/Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning provides graduates with professional training in town planning, urban and environmental design, and the legal framework for planning and heritage conservation in addition to the natural resources management content of the Bachelor of Natural Resources. |
| Honours | The degree may be awarded with Honours. The Honours level is based on grades achieved in the second, third and fourth years of the degree including the Honours project which is completed in the final year. BNatRes(Hons) graduates who achieve the appropriate level of Honours are eligible to apply to enrol for a research Master degree or the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). |

Exit Pathways
Candidates who discontinue their studies may be eligible to exit with the Diploma in The Sciences on completion of 48 credit points; or the Advanced Diploma in The Sciences on completion of 72 credit points; or the Bachelor of Environmental Science on completion of 144 credit points.
Period of Candidature
The maximum period of candidature is 6 years as a full-time candidate or 12 years as a part-time candidate.
Advanced Standing
Advanced standing will not be granted for unit NR490.
Results and Grading
Faculty of The Sciences rule on Examination Grades will apply.
