| Overview | The degree develops knowledge of communication technologies in various cultural, social and historical contexts. Graduates will understand and apply a range of disciplinary methods for studying specific communications media (print, audio and audiovisial, electronic), the changing relations between them and their role in modern society. Students can study related disciplines such as history, literature, theatre, sociology, political science, or psychology. |

Exit Pathways
Candidates who discontinue their studies in the course may be eligible to exit with the Advanced Diploma in Arts on completion of 72 credit points of which 36 credit points must be in units at 200/300-level.
Articulation Program
Film and Television Production
This program is articulated with the Diploma of Screen awarded by Armidale TAFE, which is equivalent to 72 credit points. Candidates will complete COMM 180, ENCO 100 and 60 credit points from the following list, including at least 48 credit points at 300 level: COMM 120, 315, 321, 323, 325, 383, 385, 386; ECTW 324; ENCO 306; THEA 110, 111, 307; WORK 300 or ECTW 300; WGCO 388.
Digital Television Production
This program is articulated with the Advanced Diploma in Digital Television Production Management, awarded by the JMC Academy, which is equivalent to 96 credit points.
Candidates will complete 48 credit points from the following list, including at least 30 credit points at 300 level. Each year, the course coordinator will specify an appropriate selection of eight six credit point units to enable candidates to meet these requirements.
