Unit Description

This unit deals with the origins, development, classification, diversity, natural history, conservation, behaviour, evolution, ecology and adaptive radiation of vertebrates. Comparisons of the structure and function of each of the major organ systems are made among the living vertebrate classes with an emphasis on Australian wildlife. The unit is essential for further specialisation in vertebrate biology/ecology.
