Unit Description

A survey of the terrestrial arthropods, with an emphasis on insects. Topics include systematics, morphology, general biology, physiology and development of insects. The unit is suitable as an introduction to insects and other terrestrial arthropods for students in biology, agricultural science, rural science, environmental science and ecosystem management. Assessment is by theory examination, an insect collection and assignments. Students enrolled in ZOOL 320 complete an additional assignment.
