Unit Description

BA(Hons) is an award which is taken after completion of the BA of The University of New England or any other approved university. It is completed in one year of full-time study internally or two years of part-time study externally. The Honours program normally consists of three course work modules (20% each) and a dissertation (40%). The breakdown is as follows: (1) module on research methods and procedures, and a dissertation workshop; (2) a module on theories of theatre from Aristotle onward, including recent critical theory and practice; (3) a production (on-campus) or detailed study of a play script as if in preparation for a production (off-campus); (4) a dissertation of 15 000 words (excluding the bibliography); (5) for off-campus students there is a requirement of face-to-face consultation by arrangement.
