Unit Description

This unit requires the student to have access to the Internet. The unit comprises a wholly internet-based (through a web browser) program of topic modules and assignments presented in the form of discussion via email, and electronically submitted project reports. Topics, chosen from a range of modules prepared by international experts, include soil erosion processes and sediment control, land evaluation and use, soil management in relation to issues such as soil conservation, tillage, soil fertility, chemistry, salinisation, acidification, heavy metal accumulation, land-based waste disposal, solid structure maintenance and protection measures.
