Unit Description

This unit outlines principles of sustainability as they relate to resource economics and agricultural and natural resource utilisation. It examines the issues of markets and government policies that impact on resource use and addresses the major factors influencing the management of plant and animal agriculture, minerals, water and natural biological resources. The social factors impacting on environmental management will also be discussed. Assessment is by examination and written assignments.
