Unit Description

This unit comprises up to 26 lecture hours and 12 tutorial hours. The unit deals with the design and execution of surveys and focuses on the analysis of survey data used in business and economics. Topics include: basic sampling concepts; various sample designs including simple random sampling, stratified, cluster and other sampling designs, questionnaire design; determination of sample size; and analysis of sampling data including categorical data. Computer programs will be used in the analysis of data. Students are expected to complete a project applying various sampling techniques to a practical problem.
