Unit Description

This unit begins with a description of language structures, including phonology, morphology and syntax. This provides a framework for examining psychological aspects of language use. Topics covered include the perception and production of speech, the biological bases of language, language disorders such as aphasia, and the development of literacy. There are approximately 36 hours of lectures and 12 hours of practicals/tutorials.
