Unit Description

This unit covers the application of intermediate statistics and methods in psychology. The coverage includes statistical power, effect size, multiple regression, meta-analysis, and ANOVA (eg factorial designs, repeated measures, and non-parametric alternatives). This unit should give the students the ability to (1) understand and critically evaluate a wide area of research findings in psychology, (2) select, execute, evaluate, and interpret statistical analysis in accordance with different research questions, and (3) understand the logic behind different statistical procedures. Students wishing to take this unit must have access to the internet and computer capable of running the Student Version of SPSS.
