Unit Description

This unit, designed to be of interest to all undergraduate students, covers current topics in the general area of psychology and its application to society. Possible topics include the application of psychology to: early childhood and parenting; crime; organisations; sport; the environment; human sexuality; addiction; terrorism and health psychology. Either two or three topics will be on offer in any particular year. Assessment will involve one 1500-word essay and a two-hour multiple choice final examination. Topics in the current year will be the application of psychology of drug use and abuse, and health behaviours. The unit is offered off-campus to both off- and on-campus students.
