Unit Description

Three lectures and a one-hour tutorial per week. Topics include: partial derivatives; the chain rule; basic geometrical topics on curves and surfaces in relation to multivariable functions; extreme values; double and triple integrals; change of variables; vector functions; line integrals; Green's theorem; divergence theorem; Stokes theorem. Students enrolled for PMTH 212A will obtain a deeper understanding of the subject through extra reading and solving challenging problems.
