Unit Description

The design and analysis of digital electronics is developed, building on the introduction in PHYS 211. Topics covered include logic gates, flip-flops, counters, de/multiplexers, de/encoders, buses, and microprocessors. PHYS 311A will cover the material in greater depth and include an additional topic on gate arrays. PHYS 511 will also cover the material in greater depth and include an additional topic on microprocessors.
