| Unit Description |
This unit discusses the way social scientists concentrate on some approaches to the understanding of human social phenomena, ignoring others. Particular attention is given to criticisms which could be made by the religiously committed, feminists and radical democrats. The ethics of social science research is also discussed, including invasions of privacy, protection of confidentiality, and the legitimacy of social science as an institution. |
