| Unit Description |
This unit will examine issues in the philosophy of time. Questions addressed will include: Why is it true (if it is true) that we can change the future and not the past? Is the past real? Is the future real? Is the future 'less real' than the past? Is time travel possible? Is the passage of time a genuine phenomenon or an illusion? Could time itself have a beginning? How seriously can we take Hawking's account of imaginary time? |
