| Unit Description |
This unit considers a range of theoretical issues concerning democratisation and the development of civil society, including: the relationship between state and civil society; the role of political oppositions, parliaments and political parties; other forms of representation. Students may concentrate on an Asian country/countries of their choice through the application of the theoretical issues to case studies. Unit materials will provide references for South, Southeast and East Asia. |
