| Unit Description |
The aim of this unit of study is to enquire into the essential political nature of economic thought. Through a survey of various schools of political economists and philosophers, the political dimension of much of economic thought will be drawn out. Notions of social class, economic interests, and the conflict over claims about the way a society ought to be organised will be explored, the aim being to analyse how these notions are implicit in economic thought. In addition, there will be some application of the analysis to contemporary problems and events. |
