Unit Description

This unit is concerned with the legal regulation of family relationships and the breakdown of family relationships. Topics include marriage and marriage breakdown, dissolution of marriage, the jurisdiction of the relevant courts, custody of children, matrimonial property proceedings, maintenance and maintenance agreements, legal regulation of de facto relationships, adoption of children, ex-nuptial children, constitutional and jurisdictional issues. A number of social issues are also examined.
