Unit Description

This unit consists of an examination of the development and contemporary operation of constitutional law in Australia. Topics include origins and interpretation of the Commonwealth Constitution, federal legislative powers, executive and judicial powers, constitutional guarantees and freedoms, Commonwealth/State relations, and constitutional reform. A brief introduction to the Constitution Act 1902 (NSW) is also included.
