| Unit Description |
This unit is an introduction to law, legal institutions and legal reasoning. It provides a historical overview of the development of Australian law, an introduction to the constitutional foundations of the commonwealth and states of Australia. Two major forms of law, legislation and case-law, are examined and the methods by which these laws are discovered and interpreted. Methods of legal research and writing are discussed and applied, with a particular emphasis on computer-based research. |
