Unit Description

This unit is about the cognitive aspects of pronunciation. It looks at the sound systems and writing systems of a wide range of languages, exploring the way learning to speak and write influence people's perception and representation of speech. It has a strong emphasis on learning through experience and critical reflection. The main focus is on applying knowledge of phonology in practical tasks such as teaching language and literacy. Web access is required.
