| Unit Description |
The unit introduces the study of applied linguistics with specific attention to the issue of second language learning. The unit consists of two parts: part one covers linguistics and applied linguistics in settings such as the classroom and public institutions. The second part is a critical study of second language learning, including the main theories, social and linguistic aspects, formal and informal contexts of learning, interlanguage, and motivation. |
