Unit Description

This unit builds on the structural topics of LING 101, providing a more in-depth look at speech sounds, word formation, and complex grammatical structures. It also examines the role of language in social interaction through the exploration of topics such as social and regional dialects, styles and registers, and gender and power. Web access is recommended.
