| Unit Description |
This unit explores contemporary Japanese popular culture and cultural expression through content areas such as popular music, comics and television. On successful completion of this unit, students will have some understanding of the role popular culture plays in everyday life in Japan and in the formation of the 'mind maps' of Japanese people; knowledge which is valuable for both Japanese language and non-language students alike. English as well as Japanese reading material is available. Students must submit two 2000-word essays, written in English. There is no examination for this unit. |
