| Unit Description |
This unit provides a further insight into the origins, the development and significance of 'Australitalian' in terms of the vital role this idiom plays in preserving the Italian culture in Australia. It involves a comprehensive linguistic study of the changes which occurred to the language of the Italian migrants in Australia as a result of its contact with English. The implications that such contact has on Italian language maintenance will also be investigated. |
