| Unit Description |
This unit offers translation theories and practice. It provides insights into linguistic and socio-cultural issues in translation, with a special attention to translation skills and strategies. Texts from a range of subject matters and types will be used. Students will work from Indonesian to English and vice versa. Assessment is by translation and commentaries. Students taking the 400 level are expected to show a higher level of analytical skills and application of translation theories and principles in longer essays. After the completion of the 400-level unit, students can show an advanced level of translation skills both from and into Indonesian language. |
