| Unit Description |
This unit introduces sources and methods used to study Australian colonial history. It also introduces a variety of events and issues which influenced the lives of colonial Australians, and the continuing debates which surround them. Topics covered include the origins of European settlement, race relations, the convict experiment, protest and punishment, the city and the bush, the position of women, writers and painters, and federation. |
