Unit Description

To enrol in this unit students must provide evidence that they have a sound knowledge and understanding of the bioscientific basis of human health. The unit provides them with the opportunity to investigate, under the supervision of an appropriate lecturer, a specific aspect of human health bioscience. This investigation requires a critical examination of relevant and recent literature, but may also involve practical laboratory and/or field work. The major piece of assessment is a written report based on this investigation. As an alternative students may also complete an advanced study in occupational health and safety/ergonomic issues in this unit. Students enrolled in HHSC 498 are expected to complete the major assignment at a higher level then students enrolled in HHSC398.
