Unit Description

In this unit students apply the foundation knowledge and understanding developed in HHSC 101 to study the maintenance of the human body by the digestive, respiratory and urinary systems; the composition and functions of blood; and the basic processes of metabolism. The relationships between structure and function, and maintenance of homeostasis are emphasised, as is further development of practical and problem-solving skills. This external unit includes a compulsory four-day residential school and is assessed by assignments and examination.
