Unit Description

This unit aims to provide students with a sound understanding of the law relating to commercial associations with a particular focus on companies. Among the topics covered are: the legal nature of partnerships; joint ventures; trading trusts; companies and other forms of association; the rights and liabilities of members; the rights, duties and obligations of managers, directors and other officers; financing; winding up and dissolution; securities controls; and takeovers.
