| Unit Description |
Offered jointly by the School of Economics and the School of Human and Environmental Studies. This unit investigates the operation of land and property markets in theory and practice, the resulting spatial organisation of cities, and selected issues concerning landuse and property management. Topics covered include: developer behaviour; investment appraisal; the pricing infrastructure; the determination of land values; market imperfections; property as investment; housing markets; residential and business site selection; landuse patterns; urban growth or consolidation, redevelopment and renewal; compensation and betterment; control of land prices. |
