Unit Description

A unit delivered by residential school mode only, studying the processes leading to the formation of ore deposits, ore mineralogy, exploration geochemistry, environmental consequences of mining and mineral economics. Practical work involves study of ore minerals, representative mineral deposit sample suites, environmental consequences and a compulsory two-day field excursion.
