| Unit Description |
The unit will introduce students to European films as cultural products, that is, expressions of a given culture which have found their way on to celluloid, rather than on to the stage or the printed page. It will extend students' knowledge of the culture whose language and literature they may be studying. There are no language prerequisites and students will not be required to bring to the unit any prior knowledge of European films or of the mechanics of film as a medium. |
