| Unit Description |
Two lectures and a two-hour practical session per week. The unit introduces the software techniques used to process media signals, with emphasis on image and video processing. Topics include the human visual system, signal digitisation, signal compression, signal filters, edge detection, Fourier and wavelet transforms. Practical sessions will be based on the Java platform. |
