Unit Description

This unit explores the area of Decision Support Systems (DSS) and investigates their application domains related to various business activities. In this unit, we will discuss the characteristics, capabilities, classifications, and components of DSS. We will further learn about modelling and analysis of DSS; business intelligence which includes data acquisition and data warehousing; DSS development issues which includes prototyping, DSS development platforms, technology and tools; Collaborative computing technologies such as Group Support Systems; Enterprise Information Systems and Intelligent Decision Support Systems.
