| Unit Description |
This subject is designed for students with little or no background in physics, undertaking studies in rural, environmental or health sciences. It is also suitable for students of science wishing to acquire a general background in physics. The material covered includes: electricity and magnetism (related to the household and laboratory environments), optics and optical instruments including luminescence and spectroscopy, fluids and heat related to biological systems, and atomic and nuclear physics pertaining to medical isotopes, radioactive dating and soil moisture probes. The subject is also designed to complement those topics completed in BIOP 111. |
