The Master of Science is an advanced research degree undertaken by thesis only under the supervision of a suitably qualified member of the academic staff. Candidates pursue a program of supervised research on an approved topic. Research topics may range over the whole field of The Sciences reflecting the comprehensive interests of the Faculty.

Entry Requirements

The normal requirement for admission to the degree is a four-year Honours degree from a recognised university or an approved tertiary institution, or a three-year degree from an approved tertiary institution together with substantial experience considered to be equivalent to an Honours year. Candidates with a three-year degree can also qualify for admission by completing a Master of Science Qualifying course.

*External candidates must have access to appropriate research facilities and on-site supervision.
