The Master of Science is an advanced research degree undertaken by thesis only under the supervision of a suitably qualified member of the academic staff. Candidates pursue a program of supervised research on an approved topic. Research topics may range over the whole field of The Sciences reflecting the comprehensive interests of the Faculty.

| Entry Requirements | The normal requirement for admission to the degree is a four-year Honours degree from a recognised university or an approved tertiary institution, or a three-year degree from an approved tertiary institution together with substantial experience considered to be equivalent to an Honours year. Candidates with a three-year degree can also qualify for admission by completing a Master of Science Qualifying course. *External candidates must have access to appropriate research facilities and on-site supervision. |
