Why study the Master of Economics at UNE?

The Master of Economics program is an excellent means of obtaining advanced-level qualifications in the disciplines of Accounting; Finance and Entrepreneurship; Econometrics; Economics; Economic History; Agricultural and Resource Economics and Marketing and Management. The program can be studied on a full-time basis over one and a half years, or by part-time or distance education up to four years. The program is by course work and either a minor or major dissertation; or by research thesis only (for suitably qualified applicants).

Entry Requirements

Candidates require either:

a four-year degree, or equivalent, with a relevant discipline component, from a recognised tertiary institution; or

other qualifications of equivalent standing from universities or colleges of advanced education

Applicants considered to be inadequately prepared for candidature may be advised to enrol in a Graduate Diploma or a Masters Qualifying Program (fee paying only).

Advanced Standing There is no limit to the maximum advanced standing that may be granted for units passed at this University provided that the advanced standing has not been counted towards another qualification. The maximum advanced standing granted for units that have been successfully completed towards a postgraduate qualification at this or another university or institution is 24 credit points for Option (a) Course work and minor dissertation and 12 credit points for Option (b) Course work and major dissertation.
