Why study the Master of Economics at UNE?
The Master of Economics program is an excellent means of obtaining advanced-level qualifications in the disciplines of Accounting; Finance and Entrepreneurship; Econometrics; Economics; Economic History; Agricultural and Resource Economics and Marketing and Management. The program can be studied on a full-time basis over one and a half years, or by part-time or distance education up to four years. The program is by course work and either a minor or major dissertation; or by research thesis only (for suitably qualified applicants).

Information for Continuing Master of Economics by Coursework Students for 2008
• This document provides information on course requirements to assist you in completing your 2008 re-enrolment.
• Please take a moment to look at requirements for your course as this information will help you select units for study in 2008.
Course Requirements
Candidates must complete a course of study which includes coursework (48cp) and a minor dissertation (24cp) to the value of 72 cp.
Units may be selected from 300-, 400- and 500-level units offered by the Faculty, but the course may not include more than 24 cp at 300 level.
Candidates must achieve a minimum grade of Pass in 500-level units. For all other approved units, a minimum grade of Credit must be achieved.
Candidates must include a Research Methodology unit in their program and the Minor Dissertation.
Specialisations are available in Economics and in Accounting and Financial Management.
Specialisation in Accounting and Financial Management
Candidates must include a Research Methodology unit (eg NEBS 405). In special circumstances and with the approval of the course coordinator, a student may substitute another unit for the Research Methodology unit where the candidate has completed an equivalent unit in a previous award.
Candidate should select the unit from NEBS 591 (the unit code for the minor dissertation).

Specialisation in Economics
Candidates must include a Research Methodology unit (ECON 536). In special circumstances and with the approval of the course coordinator, a student may substitute another unit for the Research Methodology unit where the candidate has completed an equivalent unit in a previous award.
Candidate should select the unit from ECON 591 (the unit code for the minor dissertation).
