Course Requirements
Candidates complete a final Honours course and pass the relevant assessment in either Psychology (PSYC 401H and PSYC 402H) or Sociology (SOCY 401H and SOCY 402H). The study program includes a thesis and advanced level course work.
Full-time students complete requirements for the course in one year (two semesters). Part-time students complete requirements in two years (four semesters). Where candidature extends beyond one calendar year, students must re-enrol. Thus for example, part time students studying the program in Psychology, enrol in PSYC 401H in their first year and must then enrol in PSYC 402H for their second year. It is the student's responsibility to complete re-enrolment.
Each student is required to spend periods in ‘face-to-face’ consultation with his or her Supervisor(s). The nature and extent of such supervision will be determined by the Supervisor(s) and Head of School after consultation with the candidate prior to commencement of each year of candidature.
