These Course Rules & Plans are ONLY to be used if you Commenced, Transferred or Changed Versions in the Bachelor of Archaeology with Honours in 2007.


• Following staffing changes, some units will not now be offered in 2008. The School of Humanities has advised that continuing students may be able to enrol in reading units (ARPA 391, HIST 391 and 392) instead. If you wish to apply for permission to enrol in one of these reading units, you must contact the School of Humanities to obtain the application form. Permission from the School is required for these units before enrolment.

Course Requirements (pre 2008)
To qualify for the degree candidates must successfully complete 192 cp including:

• all units in Group 1;
• units to the value of 24 cp from Group 2;
• ARPA 401H (24cp) and ARPA 402H (24cp);
• before enrolment in ARPA 401H, candidates must have satisfied all other requirements of the degree. Enrolment in ARPA 401H, if a part-time student, or ARPA 401H or ARPA 402H if a full-time student, should take place in the year following satisfaction of all other degree requirements except in exceptional circumstances when the course coordinator may grant permission to delay enrolment by up to one year;
• a candidate enrolled in ARPA 402H may not enrol concurrently for other units at this university or at another institution, without permission from the course coordinator.

Minimum Progress Requirements
A candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Archaeology with Honours may be excluded from further enrolment in the degree if they do not meet the following minimum progress requirements:
• at least two Distinctions in each year of study for full-time candidature;
• at least one Distinction in each year of study for part-time candidature;
• Credit level or better in all other units.
