Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science
Why study the Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science at UNE?
The Graduate Certificatein Geographic Information Science is designed to provide basic academic and professional training in the use and application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing for graduates who wish to increase their knowledge in this area.
Graduates of the Graduate Certificate will be qualified for professional positions dealing with GIS and remote sensing.
Students can design their own program of study, in consultation with academic staff, based on their background knowledge and area of interest. In addition to the core units, students are able to select two units across areas of study.
The Graduate Certificate will be awarded at the level of Pass, Pass with Credit, Pass with Distinction or Pass with High Distinction depending on the level of academic achievement.

Information for Continuing Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science Students for 2008
Course Requirements
Candidates must complete units to the value of at least 24 cp including:
(a) EM 234/534 and NR 331/531;
(b) 12cp from units at 200 level or above approved selected from units offered by the School of Environmental and Rural Science or the School of Science and Technology approved by the Course Coordinator
