| Overview | Currently enrolled students must complete this course by 31st December 2010 This undergraduate Diploma is designed to empower Indigenous and non-Indigenous people working in the area of Aboriginal family and community development and social and emotional well-being. The Diploma was developed in close collaboration and consultation with the Indigenous Regional Centre for Social and Emotional Wellbeing in Armidale, NSW. Units of study were developed with the advice of Aboriginal elders and community representatives. The units are practical and experiential, providing knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of counselling, and developing skills for those addressing issues of grief and loss, family and community violence, crisis management, child and adolescent issues and substance and alcohol abuse in Indigenous families and communities. |
| Entry Requirements | A candidate must be qualified for admission (see Undergraduate Admission Rules). All candidates must have experience in or be currently working in the field of Aboriginal community support work. |
