Information for Continuing Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Laws Students for 2008

Course Requirements (2005- 2007)
To satisfy requirements for the double degree program, candidates must complete at least 240 cp as prescribed below.
Bachelor of Science Component—Course Work Programs
Candidates must complete units to the value of at least 96 cp in one of the course work programs listed below.
Biology
36 cp from: BIOL 110, 120; CHEM 110, 120; MATH 120 (previously MATH 110), STAT 100 or MATH 101, 102;
24 cp at 200 level from BOTY and/or ECOL and/or ZOOL and/or MSM and/or BCHM/MICR and/or PSIO and/or GENE as listed in Group 2 below;
36 cp at 300 level from BOTY and/or ECOL and/or ZOOL and/or MSM and/or BCHM/MICR and/or PSIO and/or GENE or other units offered by the Faculty as approved by the Course Coordinator as listed in Group 3 below.
Chemistry

Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Laws - for students enrolled and continuing under pre-2005 rules
Course Requirements (2000- 2005 Version 1 Rules)
To qualify for the degree a student must pass units to the value of 240 cp comprising:
108 cp in the Bachelor of Science component (18 units);
132 cp in the Bachelor of Laws component (22 units) and the unit *LS 280 (Moot Court) see note.
Bachelor of Science component
Within the 108 cp required, candidates must include:
(a) not less than 36cp nor more than 60cp from Group 1 These may not include more than 12cp in total for units of Group 1c;
(b) not less than 24cp shall be for units of Group 1a. Group 1a must include at least six credit points from the units MATH 101, 102, 120 (previously 110); STAT 100;
(c) not more than 24 credit points in any one subject from units in Group 2
(d) at least 36 credit points shall be from units in Group 3;
(e) at least 12 cp from units in Group 2a.

Bachelor of Laws Component
The Bachelor of Laws component comprises 132 cp - including:
(a) all compulsory units in Group A to the value of 90 cp.
Group A
LS 100 , 160, 200, 210, 220, 231, 232, 240, 281, 282, *LS 280 (see note), 301, 351, 355, 371, 372; and
(b) elective Units to the value of 42 cp selected from Groups B, C and D with at least one unit from each group.
Group B
ELS 378, LS 311 (no longer offered), 320, 335, 345 (no longer offered), 360, 361.
Group C
LS 321, 331, 332, 334, 336, 341, 342, 352, 354 (no longer offered), 357, 358, 364, 368, 370, 377, 378, 390 (no longer offered)
Group D

*LS 480 Advanced Research, Writing and Advocacy (for students who have not completed Moot Court). Students who have not successfully completed LS 280 (Moot Court) must include LS 480. This unit will also meet the requirement for a Group D elective unit (though students will still need to complete 132 cps in Law).
Note: One unit must be completed from each of these groups.
