Information for Continuing Bachelor of Computer Science/Bachelor of Laws  Students for 2008

Bachelor of Computer Science/Bachelor of Laws (2005-2007 rules)
To complete requirements of the double degree program a candidate must complete at least 240 cp as prescribed below.

Bachelor of Computer Science Component
Candidates must complete units to the value of at least 96 cp.

Group 1 (complete ALL units)
AMTH 140; COMP 131, 132, 170.

Group 2a (complete ALL units)
COMP 280, 282, 283, 284.

Group 2b (complete at least one unit)
COMP 285, 286, 287, 290, 292.

Group 3 (complete at least five units)
COMP 309, 311, 313 (new unit), 315, 318, 319, 320, 322, 323, 389, 391, 393, 395.

Bachelor of Laws Component
Candidates must complete units to the value of at least 144 cp.

Compulsory (96cp)
LS 100, 160, 200, 210, 220, 231, 232, 240, 281, 282, 320, 351, 355, 371, 372, 480.

Electives (48cp)
ELS 378 (withdrawn as an elective in 2008 rules), LS 301, 315, 321, 331, 332, 334, 335, 336, 341, 342, 352, 357, 358, 360, 361, 364, 368, 370, 377, 378, 379, 400, 403, 459, 471 and 478. (The units LS 311, 345, 354, 390, 399, 470 are no longer offered)

Bachelor of Computer Science/Bachelor of Laws - for students enrolled and continuing under pre-2005 rules

Course Requirements (pre 2005)
To qualify for the degree a student must pass units to the value of 240 cp comprising:
108 cp in the Bachelor of Computer Science component (18 units); and
132 cp in the Bachelor of Laws component (22 units) and the unit *LS 280 (Moot Court) see note.

Bachelor of Computer Science Component
Units to the value of 108cp selected from units in Sciences with at least 90cp from COMP units including:

• COMP 131, 132 and AMTH 140;
• at least five 200-level COMP units; and
• at least five 300-level COMP units

Bachelor of Laws Component
(a)  all compulsory units to the value of 90 cp.
LS 100, 160, 200, 210, 220, 231, 232, 240, 281, 282, *LS 280, 301, 351, 355, 371, 372;
(b)  elective Units to the value of 42 cp.
Group B
ELS 378, LS 311 (no longer offered), 320, 335, 345 (no longer offered), 360, 361.

Group D

Note: One unit must be completed from each of these groups.

*LS 280 is no longer offered. Students who have not successfully completed LS 280 must meet this requirement through successful completion of LS 480 - Advanced Research, Writing and Advocacy.
