| Entry Requirements | No previous knowledge of computing is assumed. However, a background in Mathematics at NSW HSC level, or equivalent, is assumed knowledge. For students without the recommended background knowledge, the Faculty offers a Foundation unit in Mathematics. Students are also able to articulate into the BCompSc on completion of the NSW TAFE Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent which counts for 72 credit points. |
| Double Degree Opportunities | A Bachelor of Computer Science/Bachelor of Laws is offered. Successful candidates for this double program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Computer Science and the degree of Bachelor of Laws. |
| Advanced Standing | Advanced standing for 72 credit points is granted on the basis of a completed TAFE qualification approved by the Faculty. Advanced standing may also be granted on the basis of previous study completed at recognised tertiary institutions. |
| Honours | A fourth Honours year is available to students with an above average academic record. Course requirements usually include a research project with thesis, reading assignments and essays. The BCompSc(Hons) degree can lead to further postgraduate study. |
| Scholarships | The University offers a number of Faculty/College and country scholarships available to Australian citizens and permanent residents. |

Information for Continuing Bachelor of Computer Science Students for 2008
Course Requirements (pre 2008)
To satisfy degree requirements, candidates shall complete one of the course work programs specified below.
Each course work program shall comprise units with a value of at least 144 cp including:
(i) all units from Group 1 and 2a; and
(ii) at least six cp from Group 2b; and
(iii) at least 30 cp from Group 3; and
(iv) not more than 54 cps for units from Group 4.
In special circumstances and with the approval of the Course Coordinator of Computer Science, other units available from subjects offered within the University may be substituted for one or more of the prescribed units listed above.
