Entry to the first year of a degree is open to students who have obtained an appropriate NSW University Admission Index (UAI) or Queensland Tertiary Equivalent score or an equivalent qualification. Alternative entry is available. Students are required to provide information relating to their previous work and academic experiences. Provision is made for Alternative Entry on the basis of criteria other than formal secondary education. An applicant's work and educational experience will be considered when assessing eligibility for admission. An Alternative Entry program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students is conducted by the Oorala Centre at UNE. For further information contact the Centre on (02) 6773 3034. |

Course Requirements (b) Business Majors: one of the following Business majors to the value of 36 cp:
(c) Economics Majors: one of the Economic majors to the value of 36 cp of which at least 18 cp must be at 300 level.
(d) 36 cps of other units to provide the total of 192 cp for the combined degrees. These units must be from School of Business, Economics and Public Policy and the School of Law and/or units approved by the course coordinator from other Schools. Rules

| Advanced Standing | UNE recognises that some enrolling students have prior knowledge from other courses or practical experience that is similar to some of the units to be studied in their new course. Advanced standing allows this prior learning to be counted towards a new award, provided the student still meets the rules of the new award. Each application is decided individually and applicants must provide documentation to support their application for advanced standing in each unit. Summer Semester provides an opportunity for students to fast-track their academic progression or to catch up on units required to complete the degree.
