Why study the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws at UNE?
This program combines the main elements of a Bachelor of Arts degree with specialist study in Law. Students in the double program commence their studies with units from the Bachelor of Arts component, gradually the proportion of study devoted to law increases until in the final years most students are only enrolled in units from the Bachelor of Laws component.

The double program provides an extensive range of educational experience, offering maximum flexibility within the legal profession and/or in an applied legal environment. Government statistics suggest that approximately 95 per cent of law graduates are employed within three months of their graduation. Summer Semester provides an opportunity for students to fast-track their academic progression or to catch up on units required to complete the degree. A selection of units is offered off-campus during the normal semester break from November to February, enabling students to study from home and to accelerate their progress towards graduation. |

Information for Continuing Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws Students for 2008
Course Requirements (2005-2007 Version 2)Candidates must successfully complete 240 cp.
The Bachelor of Arts component comprises 96 cp with the remaining 144 cp comprising the Bachelor of Laws component.
Bachelor of Arts component
Students begin their studies with the Bachelor of Arts component and follow a sequence of units in one or more subjects in the humanities or social sciences. Within the 96 cp required, candidates must include:
(a) two subjects (at least 12 cp in each subject);
(b) all 96 cp must be selected from subjects for the Bachelor of Arts* (see below);
(c) 48 cp, including 18 cp at 300 level, in one subject;
(d) not more than 36 cp at 100 level.
Bachelor of Laws component
Candidates must also pass 144 cp towards the Bachelor of Laws component, including:
(a) all compulsory units to the value of 96cps;
(b) Elective units to the value of 48 cp
