| Overview |
The Bachelor of Agribusiness is designed to equip students to perform an effective professional role in a changing economic and social environment, and to apply business and management skills to a range of activities in the agricultural sector. This degree will be attractive to students with interest in employment in the following areas: rural borrowing and lending; merchandising of farm inputs; merchandising of farm outputs; food and fibre processing; rural politics and advocacy. Practical Experience: Agribusiness students must complete up to 8 weeks of professional experience with approved agribusiness institutions. A minimum of two weeks and a maximum of six weeks can be undertaken in any one organisation or district. This professional placement program equips students with key workplace skills and assists them in gaining employment upon graduation. |

| Entry Requirements |
Entry to the first year of the degree is open to students who have obtained an appropriate NSW University Admission Index (UAI) or Queensland Tertiary Equivalent score or an equivalent qualification. Alternative Entry is available. Students are required to provide information relating to their previous work and academic experiences. Apart from proficiency in English there are no prerequisite courses for enrolment in the first year units offered by the Faculty of Economics, Business and Law. However, for some units in the economics, finance and quantitative areas, it is recommended that students have previously studied mathematics. An Alternative Entry program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students is conducted by the Oorala Centre at UNE. For information contact the Centre on (02) 6773 3034. |

Summer Semester provides an opportunity for students to fast-track their academic progression or to catch up on units required to complete the degree. A selection of units are offered off-campus during the normal semester break from November to February, enabling students to study from home and to accelerate their progress towards graduation. Summer Semester is offered on a fee-paying basis only. |
| Honours | Students of sufficient academic merit may be permitted to proceed to a fourth year of study for an Honours degree in Agribusiness. |
